Daraj Media is an independent media platform that primarily serves Arabic-speaking audiences. Founded in 2017 by seasoned journalists Alia Ibrahim, Diana Moukalled, and Hazem El Amin, Daraj produces impact driven journalism holding power into account while amplifying marginalized voices and shedding light on underreported issues across the region. Its mission is to spark cross-generational conversations and produce stories of public interest that inspire awareness and positive change. Today, Daraj maintains a strong presence on Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, Twitter (X), and other digital platforms, engaging a diverse and growing community across the Arab world and beyond. The grant has strengthened Daraj’s sustainability through developing testing and adopting innovative revenue streams that reinforce its independence.
