Megaphone

Megaphone (Lebanon) is an independent online media platform based in Beirut, launched in 2017. Initially volunteer-led, the platform features over 30 contributors focused on producing critical and fresh news content. Megaphone holds an unquestionable position as an established actor within Lebanon's alternative media landscape, highlighting stories overlooked by Maynstream media. It emphasizes the voices of marginalized groups often discriminated by gender, nationality, belief, class, sexuality, or social status. With funds from the International Fund, Megaphone plans to expand its freelancer pool, refine its social media strategy, and develop new formats to grow its audience. Additionally, they will conduct audience research in Syria, Jordan, Palestine, and Egypt which may be useful for future intervention within those countries.
