AIP is a national membership organisation of small, independent print and online publishers in South Africa founded in 2005. The organisation is dedicated to building the sustainability of the sector through research, policy work and training. AIP’s most recent project is the setting up of the Digital News Transformation Fund with Google funding to support independent publishers across South Africa (not only AIP members) to go online. Through targeted legal support and advice, IFPIM has played a critical role in assisting AIP to establish the fund. AIP has a website and distributes information via Facebook, X, YouTube and its website.
